Narrate My Life

A creator-led trend that turns life’s small moments into storytelling opportunities

Three content creators showcasing TikTok’s viral “Narrate My Life” trend, This is a great trend to use in influencer marketing campaigns. Each frame introduces a creator — Adrian with a traffic cone, Emily in bed, and Kiki reading in her art studio — highlighting personality-driven storytelling popular in creator-led content.

You’ve probably seen it… The video opens with a classic movie narrator voice saying something like, “This is Bella. She is going to make an interesting life choice” and you’re instantly locked-in. Whether the creator is bantering with the narrator or letting the voice take full control, the result is fun, fast-paced and totally 00’s movie vibes. This trend has brought the voiceover format back to life and better than ever!

This is the “narrate my life” trend where everyday moments are turned into mini documentary / classic movie vibes using AI-generated voiceovers. Whether it’s someone’s morning routine, a fun deep dive into the dating scene, or a cat with main character energy, this third-person narration style brings fun, relatability, and just the right amount of chaos to a piece of content.

It’s fun. It’s easy. And when done right, it does numbers!

Alyssa and Olive: The perfect pairing

One of our favourite examples of this trend came recently from creator Alyssa (@alyssa.forato) as part of the Royal Canin campaign. Her cat, Olive, a self-proclaimed genius with a flair for the dramatic became the star of a narrated day-in-the-life clip that felt more like a short film than sponsored content.

We’re talking fly screen climbing as if she was the next blockbuster hero in the MCU, full-on zoomies, and a very refined taste in food. It’s not until the end that you realise… “Oh wait, this was an ad.” A very clever, very subtle one. Because the story of Olive, really dove into the why, and the love of Royal Canin wasn’t inserted, it was learned through storytelling.

Alyssa’s content nails two key things: jumping on the trend while it’s hot and avoiding the heavy-handed brand push. She brought her own twist to the content, incorporated the product naturally and hit that sweet spot where audiences feel entertained first, sold to second. Long gone are the days of the paid promotions that feel like a 3AM infomercial and here are the days where storytelling is the key driver for success.

What’s behind the trend’s success?

The “narrate my life” trend is hitting because it gives creators space to be creative, playful and even a bit chaotic (in the best way)! People are also interested in other people and love a good story so not only do they want to see other People’s Narrate my Life, but they also want to make their own too and have their main character moment!

Here’s why it works so well:

  • It’s different: The narration instantly breaks up the FYP and makes you pay attention, the following banter between Creator and narrator and the authentic voice just work so well to make something fun and engaging.
  • It’s story-first: Products (when included) are part of the plot, not the star of the content.
  • It’s personal: Even with an AI voice, creators’ personalities shine through.
  • It’s easy to execute: With a variety of Creator tools at hand, it’s easier than ever to try something new – whether as a brand or as a Creator.
  • It’s adaptable: You can make it whatever you want! It’s a trend that can be truly personal – whether you want to make it silly, sentimental, sarcastic, or straight-up educational… the trend is completely tailored to you.

Social Soup’s take

“As a Content Manager, I live for when creators and trends align naturally and Alyssa absolutely nailed it. This is the kind of content that stops you scrolling on your FYP because it’s nostalgic and fun. This whole trend has been a bit of fresh air from the usual doomscrolling.

In today’s world, audiences don’t want to be sold to. They want to be entertained and informed. And when you build up the why (before you reveal the brand), the message lands ten times harder.” Lisa Riesinger – Social Soup’s Content Manager

How brands can make the most of it

  • Be trend agile: If a trend fits the brief, move fast. The window is small.
  • Let creators lead: Trust their style, their storytelling, or even… their leading lady of a cat.
  • Think like an audience: If it feels like an ad from the first second, it won’t cut through. Share the why first and then go lightly with a solution.
  • Lean into story: People remember plots and personal stories, not product claims.

Creator tips for jumping in

  • Choose moments that already have narrative tension (chaotic pet? Weird day out? Chaotic first date story?)
  • Use the text-to-speech function to test different voices, play with tone!
  • Write like you’re narrating a nature doco, classic movie or parody ad – structure helps.
  • Keep it short, sweet, and scroll-stopping. From the first introduction, kick things off with a bang. You’re the protagonist here.. Step into your main character moment!

Final thought

Trends come and go so it’s so important to jump on a trend when it feels right. This trend proves that you don’t need a huge concept or production budget to make branded content sing. You just need a good story and a smart hook. Alyssa’s clip didn’t feel staged or inauthentic. It felt fun and natural, and that’s what today’s audiences are drawn to.

So if you’re thinking about experimenting with AI voiceover trends, our advice? Don’t wait. Trend with purpose. Make it real, make it you, and trust yourself/the creator to bring the magic. Even if that magic includes a cat who thinks she’s a monkey.
